Shine On, Brad

Broke Brad with Bread, originally uploaded by mollyeh11.

After six years of hosting the Breaking Bread with Brad parties at SxSW, I was joking with him in 2006 and asked if anyone had ever literally broken bread with him. It turned out NO one ever properly broke bread with Brad! So of course I seized the moment and had the great pleasure of doing literally that.

Who knew it would be one of the memories I will now hold very close for the rest of my life, for Brad Graham has passed on, far too young, at age 41.

Rest in peace, dear friend. I will remember you always. You were one of the most magnanimous people I’ve ever known – great in mind and heart.

CSS3 Panel Slides from SXSWi

These are the CSS3 panel slides from SXSW Interactive. As the moderator, I apologize to the 40+ people who could not get into the room. It was a really informative and fun panel, so we’ve made these slides available to the public at large to extend that information.

Please enjoy and be sure to try things out in a variety of browsers. Feel free to share your comments and thoughts here.

New Photos: From Austin to Seattle to Boston

I’ve finally caught up with publishing photos to date. Got some from SXSW, my visit to Seattle and Microsoft, and a few early shots from here at An Event Apart.

This snap is in Bellevue, Washington, on a foggy morning. I love its mystery.

If you’re in Boston and/or attending AEA, shout it out!

Can Our Tribe Fit Into Texas?

I have been really ill for the last few weeks and am just now getting myself together. Sorry for the silence but if you’ll be at the tribal gathering more formally known as South by Southwest (SXSW), find me, or leave me a message in comments right here, y’all!

By the by, I’ve heard from at least a few folks who feel sad they’re not going. You’re there in spirit. Besides, until Austin builds yet another five or six hotels downtown immediately (they just built about three new ones), we’re simply not going to fit.

Texas is big, though. Really big. We’re a smart bunch. We ought to be able to figure it out for future tribal gatherings.
