Call for Web Standards Quips and Clips
I’m preparing my keynote for Webstock in Wellington, New Zealand, coming up next week. I would very much like a sampling of video shots of a wide range of individual opinions and thoughts answering the question: “What is the definition of Web Standards?” You can be as funny, mean, or weird as you like so long as you have some clear point to make. If you’re an enthusiast, be enthusiastic. If you’re a hater, be a hater. Just have a point, and think of the children 
If you’d like to help out, drop a me! please in the comments. Shyness definitely does not apply here. I’ll contact you by email privately with details as to where to send and format, etc.
I’ll be using these clips within the presentation to gain a widespread look at how people define, and feel, about Web standards. Mostly, the point is to demonstrate how it can mean such a variety of things to people from all over the world. The more variety, the better. I will then publish them in the public domain for all to enjoy.

The best description of Web Standards that I can come up with is:
Web Standards comprise an Operators Manual for every brand and model of car that has been or might yet be manufactured — and although printed in clear, concise and readable text, they appear to have been issued to each and every sight-impaired automobile operator on our crowded and busy highway.
And even if they were sighted, aren’t they too busy driving to take the time to read the manual? It’s something we dig into when we get a flat..
..Hmmm, where’s that jack?!?
Alright, I’ve taken a bit more time to think about this..
Web Standards are a cart-driven horse.
After finishing site content and styling, authors and designers run as many browsers as they can to test the compatibility of their SITES. In a true standards-driven world, the browser manufacturers would test their browsers to insure the compatibility of their IMPLEMENTATIONS.

Because everybody who likes the web and is working an playing with it day bay day, enjoying it every second, minute, hour, day, month and year of its life will be proud to be a part of your keynote and also then to take part of the Webstock in New Zealand. I wanna be with you!!! Because for me Webstock is like Woodstock…

It might be an easy thing to find some mates. Because Webstock is a holy thing for everybody who likes the web and who likes it to make correspondence on the web to talk with people all around the world – no matter what time it is. I would be proud to be a member of your Webstock team. Take me buddy…!!!
