Mopeding around some Greek Island.
March 30th, 2006 at 2:20 pm
I’d be hiking and backpacking in New Zealand with my wife.
I’m really just dreaming, because I have neither the wife (or gf) or means to get me (us) to New Zealand.
March 30th, 2006 at 2:23 pm
I’d be walking around Montreal with my wife and son.
March 30th, 2006 at 2:27 pm
right here. but with less work.
March 30th, 2006 at 2:42 pm
With the girlfriend, in London or Glasgow. (Dropping money on a MacBook?)
I’m off to her sooooon though
March 30th, 2006 at 2:47 pm
Home in front of my easel painting… But that means I’d have to clean everything up afterwards. So maybe not.
March 30th, 2006 at 2:57 pm
Small island in the Caribbean. St Lucia, St. Thomas, something like that. Me & the Missus, a hammock and a bar of cold rum.
March 30th, 2006 at 2:58 pm
SXSWi 2007?
Sheesh, I feel like a geek…
March 30th, 2006 at 3:07 pm
mmm not here stuck on a Prolog problem that I don’t understand with a week until its due and no idea how to complete it… 30 hours spent on the first part most people did in 30 minutes… and no real assistance from the lecturers or tutor…
noooo
I’d be sunning back somewhere in the Carribean with all the other pirates and scallywags drinking rum and training my parrot to swear. Honest.
March 30th, 2006 at 3:20 pm
In New Zealand listening to some of the local bands I’ve been a fan of for 20 years. Everyone I know seems to be going to NZ this spring….
March 30th, 2006 at 3:23 pm
In bed…with some cheese and a glass of port…
March 30th, 2006 at 3:40 pm
On Maui, lazing on a warm beach with a MaiTai and my hubby.
March 30th, 2006 at 3:41 pm
Hmm… That’s a tough question… I can’t really think of anywhere I’d rather be… I just wish I didn’t have to deal with school right now. I feel rather burnt out.
March 30th, 2006 at 3:52 pm
Home.
March 30th, 2006 at 3:54 pm
At the Arclight Cinemas finally watching “The Inside Man” this week like I said I was going to.
March 30th, 2006 at 3:54 pm
Home, too.
March 30th, 2006 at 4:21 pm
… Ancient Greece, where burning Sappho stroked the Wine-Dark sea, in the temple by the moonlight, wa-de-do-dah…
March 30th, 2006 at 4:37 pm
In Tokyo…having some Ramen and Sake and catching up with old friends….
March 30th, 2006 at 4:55 pm
It’s either:
On the beach on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, followed by dinner, etc., in RoadTown.
or,
Leaving Heathrow’s international terminal for King’s Cross and, then, to Inverness and thereabouts for a few weeks.
March 30th, 2006 at 5:26 pm
Somewhere on a remote, isolated beach where the fishing’s good, the sun is shining, the water’s warm and the diving is plentiful. WiFi access a bonus. I’m envisioning the outer cayes of Belize, but am always open to suggestion…
March 30th, 2006 at 7:17 pm
Playing assistant principal trumpet on Mahler 5 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
March 30th, 2006 at 7:42 pm
Wading through the ocean’s tide on my favorite beach in Tulum hand-in-hand with my husband, drinking a bucket o’ ice cold imports. It’s his 50th birthday and I know that’s where he’d rather be, too.
Actually, we will be there in 50 days as a belated, but better-timed gift! Oooh, the anticipation will make it even better.
What would you want to be doing now, Molly?
March 30th, 2006 at 8:07 pm
Exploring Italy with my fiance - I’d love to see the village where my grandfather grew up.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:23 pm
Anywhere that isn’t Ohio… it’s been a long winter.
March 30th, 2006 at 8:26 pm
…here, where I am — next to the love of my life…
or
…daydreaming, imagining the home of our dreams… where my yard is in full and glorious bloom, the scent of lilac in the warm breeze, the hammock rocking slowly with a glass of merlot and a novel…do you hear the gulls crying in the distance…
March 30th, 2006 at 8:47 pm
Having sex? Is this a trick question?
March 30th, 2006 at 8:57 pm
In Hungary, not doing homework.
March 30th, 2006 at 9:49 pm
Having a cappuccino in Porto Christo, Majorca. Such a beautiful and peaceful place. I’m gonna have to take myself off there pretty soon.
What about you Molly, what would you rather be doing right now?
Cheers;
Poncho
March 30th, 2006 at 10:30 pm
Somewhere on the Amazon river on an expedition to take pictures of pink dolphins.
Alternatively, at home in London, sharing a beer with mates.
March 31st, 2006 at 12:14 am
Probably diving in the Maldives.
March 31st, 2006 at 12:32 am
Right now, probably my favourite thing would be sleeping in my bed (been sleeping ~6hrs).
Second favourite…. watching a good movie (got myself “Thunderheart” on DVD lately).
But the one thing I would like to do the most is spending time with my wife and daughter.
I know. SO predictable.
Dustin: now that you mention it…
March 31st, 2006 at 12:34 am
In my own cottage/farmhouse in Wales, nestled in the forests. Completely wired up, with long walks in the forest, and of course, with my best friends.
If I have to wait until retirement to get there, so be it - it’ll be worth it.
March 31st, 2006 at 1:02 am
Exactly where I actually am - in a jacuzzi with Meera Jasmine and Bjork, sipping champagne, smoking special non-carcinogenic cigarettes.
March 31st, 2006 at 1:12 am
Somewhere peacefull…. everytime I turn on my TV , it seems the world has gone mad.
March 31st, 2006 at 1:32 am
I’d be at An Event Apart Atlanta… but i’ve got no time or cash.
March 31st, 2006 at 1:56 am

In Madrid with someone I miss very, very much…
March 31st, 2006 at 5:45 am
With my girlfriend… or getting on a plane to Oz to see the Formula 1.
Tough choice
I seriously have no idea what I’d be doing
March 31st, 2006 at 6:07 am
Living in the South of France, finishing off the skiing season, working for myself on my own terms from a MacBook Pro and looking forward to the warm summer evenings barbequing and drinking fine red wine.
One day…it’s good to have dreams and aspirations!
March 31st, 2006 at 6:19 am
I’d be having a pint of Old Speckled Hen in the Lord Nelson pub on the Strand in Deal England.

March 31st, 2006 at 6:33 am
Oh, I would definitely be completely surrounded by nature…preferably somewhere tropical. Maybe in the Costa Rica rainforest eating a freshly picked mango.
March 31st, 2006 at 7:14 am
If I could be anywhere doing anything right now, I’d be sitting down with Molly for a Mentoring session in an attempt soak up all that knowledge and experience like a sponge so that someday I too could turn around and share it with someone else…
Are you taking on Mentees Molly?

Back in time to a few weeks ago. Two days before my Father passed away, when he was coherent, to tell him one last time that I loved him and he wasn’t alone. I would always be with him.

April 1st, 2006 at 10:23 am
I’d be in a Swedish bank, opening a lock-box full of fake passports, a pistol, and enough money to retire ten times on. Of course, I’m not there for the money though. I’m being chased by the C.I.A. and and I need to discover who …I …am?
Hey! … Wait a second! I already saw this film!
Scrap that. I’d be in bed, asleep. I obviously need it.

April 5th, 2006 at 9:56 am
Driving down US101 in Oregon under a full moon in a blue convertible with the top down.
Not that I’ve ever been there, or own a convertible of any color or make. It just seems nice.
April 9th, 2006 at 1:59 pm
I would like to be sitting in a comfortable chair on the open-air rear observation platform of my own private heavyweight Pullman railroad passenger car, bare feet propped up on the gleaming brass rail, a cold adult beverage sitting on a small serving table, holding hands with my wife, as my young daughter sits on my lap and we watch the beauty of America pass before our eyes, far removed from the teeming stink of the highways.
That, and I reaaly need to do something about these run-on sentences…
April 17th, 2006 at 11:40 am
Watching my kids play (ages 2 and 3) - instead of having to work.
April 18th, 2006 at 2:01 pm

Well, the Zen Buddhist is me says to be happy where you are. Regard every moment as sacred and every place you are as where you are meant to be. Happiness, after all, comes from within, not from without. There is beauty in the smallest things – peeling an orange, washing the dishes, or the keystroke made while typing up a blog comment. Beyond this, no matter how bad your situation may be at this particular moment, there is always someone worse off than you, and – as my grandmother used to say – nothing lasts forever. All that said, I have to say, I’d much prefer to be dozing on the couch, the window open on a cool day with a nice breeze, some golf on mute on the television that I can gaze at between moments of drowse, and a nice gentle jazz station in the background.
