  23. Stan says:

I would like to be sitting in a comfortable chair on the open-air rear observation platform of my own private heavyweight Pullman railroad passenger car, bare feet propped up on the gleaming brass rail, a cold adult beverage sitting on a small serving table, holding hands with my wife, as my young daughter sits on my lap and we watch the beauty of America pass before our eyes, far removed from the teeming stink of the highways.

That, and I reaaly need to do something about these run-on sentences…

  30. Well, the Zen Buddhist is me says to be happy where you are. Regard every moment as sacred and every place you are as where you are meant to be. Happiness, after all, comes from within, not from without. There is beauty in the smallest things – peeling an orange, washing the dishes, or the keystroke made while typing up a blog comment. Beyond this, no matter how bad your situation may be at this particular moment, there is always someone worse off than you, and – as my grandmother used to say – nothing lasts forever. All that said, I have to say, I’d much prefer to be dozing on the couch, the window open on a cool day with a nice breeze, some golf on mute on the television that I can gaze at between moments of drowse, and a nice gentle jazz station in the background.
