Ojai Video Diary: Day Four - The Day After
YES THAT’S ME semi-passed out on the couch (QuickTime format, 2.1MB) after partying too hard on my birthday.
And please, please don’t believe one bit of the malarkey about me making Andy do the cleaning up.
His hoovering-sans-plug got so annoying, the staff here at Lynda.Com felt they had to lock him in the booth.

Molly,
Nice to have you in the County. Say hi to Lynda and Bruce for me, their non-compliant aerospace nut former coffee buddy from the “Ojai Coffee Roasting Company.”
Alas, they don’t “roast” their own tea. But the Bolivian Organic is to die for. Hope you are having fun!

Hoovering sans plug, eh?
So that’s what the kids are calling it these days.

Hi Molly, i hope to see you soon in Limoges. Hopefully fresh and full of wisdom. I look forward to learn from your CSS presentation.

Hi Craig - thanks for your welcome. Unfortunately, I had a really unpleasant experience at the Ojai Coffee Roasting Company the other morning, where I was treated very rudely. I swore never to go back. I am having fun, however. I love Ojai.
Eric: What Malarkey said.
Mathieu: I look forward to seeing you! Please be sure to come find me and say hi. I’m nervous because it’s my first time to France, but everyone has been so nice and welcoming I know it will be a great experience.

I love how you’ve picked up the local hand gestures, Molly.

Hi Molly,
I’m very sorry to hear about your bad experience at the Ojai Coffee Roasting Company.
I’m down by the ocean in Ventura now and no longer a regular (hence my earlier “former” comment). We used to score our caffine fix there, um, 6-8 years ago. I think the last time I saw Lynda and Bruce was a Trader Joes.
I must admit I do still buy my organic coffee in bulk at the OCRC every few months - nothing down here can touch it.
Love your blog and glad you had better experiences elsewhere in Ojai.

I’ve never heard it called Hoovering Sans Plug before,… is this a term a lot of people use?

Dear Molly,
I have been trying unsuccessfully to contact you to find out where we went wrong with your experience in my establishment, Ojai Coffee Roasting, Co. I know Craig for many years and enjoy his purchasing of our Organic Bolivian. I would love to hear from you and welcome your input as I take such pride in our service, but what happened for you concerns me. Though it was a while ago, your adamancy of never returning to my place is a drag. Please, if you are willing and have a moment to share I would be grateful.
Truly, Stacey Jones

Those who choose to take the “slights and disappointments” path, meanwhile, are very generously compensated for their trouble
