firefoxIE: sneak preview of new version
FIREFOXIE IS A customization for Firefox that makes it look just like IE. I wrote about it a bit ago, and just got the heads up that there’s a sneak-preview of the new version available.
The new version looks like it’ll be even more impressive than the first.
You might be asking: “Why do I want Firefox to look like IE when I don’t even like IE?” Well, while I personally do not want my Firefox to look like IE, I do know that setting it up for my 70+ year old Mom that way makes switching over a heck of a lot easier.
So check out FirefoxIE and if it doesn’t interest you for your own needs, think about the folks that need the extra help transitioning to a standards-rich, secure browser seamlessly.

Now, if we could only get rid of that Windows look…
If your 70+ mom can setups steps 1 to 8 on her own then I think she can put up with the default skin.
Well, if her mum is like my 80-year old dad (and my 40 and 20-year old acquaintances) she’s not the one setting Firefox up on her machine — Molly is. In my case, the most frequent comment heard after showing folks Firefox goes something like, “Interesting, but I’m really used to the setup I have.”
She gonna find this page broken at 800 regardless of what browser she uses.
I could probably use this to convince my boss I’m using IE :p
This way I could say “But you saw that I was testing it in IE, maybe your Internet Explorer has a bug. You should download Firefox, lol.
Nice! Good to see them working on a new version. Firefoxie comes in very handy for my family and friends.
Opera fans that have switched to Firefox might appreciate this Opera 7.5x theme. I’m not, but I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and DAMN it’s sexy, beats all the other Firefox themes by far.
This is amazing! I was thinking that someone should do this. And it’s actually already done. I faced the same problem, installing it for family and friends sometimes goes bumpy after them seeing the interface difference. This should really help.
