thankful
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO all friends who celebrate. It’s been such a challenging year on global and personal levels that it feels a bit difficult to muster up enthusiasm for gratitude, but grateful for many things I remain.
One of the primary things I am grateful for is my career - and as a natural extension of that - my friends involved in the online world who are my true tribe. Without my work, my fantastic colleagues and friends, well, I think I’d have lost it one way or the other a long time ago.
Is it sad or joyous for one to say that her work is her happiness, comfort, and strength? So many times we’re led to believe that it is people, family, a partner that brings us those things. But that’s not been my experience in life. Perhaps I was made to do exactly this. Of course, God hadn’t yet thought up blogging when I was born some forty years ago 
I suppose the message here is simple: It is to all who visit here, who read my books and articles, who bestow upon me the privilege of being able to serve through education and inspiration and who have helped me find community to whom I owe the biggest debt of gratitude.
So I’ll say it simply: Thank you.

Only read one of your books (250 HTML and Web Design Secrets) but it was pretty good. Well worth a read even if you consider yourself a seasoned web developer.

Happiness, comfort, and strength are fostered inside. They do not come in reality from anything or anyone outside except as extra gifts given freely hopefully to another. You bring those things and emotions TO each encounter or to your job and your inner value is then reflected back to you. hope that made sense? but what does a hermit dying of brain cancer know? ha. Zen has it right maybe, all is illusion as am I. peace always.

least that be misunderstood, I mean there are indeed differing realities here. Some people are identified and get validation Only from their job or station in life, some use that to inflict their viewpoints or values upon others, and some share what they have learned about themselves as well as “things”- the outside world, work, pleasure ect. you name it. Some are lucky enough to realze we are in constant flux, constantly learning, and adapting. oh well. there I go. bash me if ye will. One last thought- moral and ethical viewpoints- whose, what culture, what values? i know very few folks that ever took a personal inventory and took the time to do values clarification for themselves. Ok. i hear ya all. blah blah blah blah ray, just shut the hell up. Ok ya got it.

Your forum feels like a safe place and I can tell you like your work. It feels like you have created a tapestry of communication and the colors are inspiring. I can feel the passion you have and want to let you know it’s very visible.
