Shaun of the Dead
I think Shaun of the Dead creates a new genre: Punk Horror. I laughed almost the entire way through, except for the parts where I was screaming “EWWW” with the rest of the crowd.
I loved it.
Antigone Rising
Living long enough to see women rock mighty is a joy. I don’t mean women rocking a little. I mean women taking rock to its hardest, sexiest, hottest, realist end. Antigone Rising, one of The. Best. Bands. Ever.
Rich Robinson
Rich Robinson is a songwriter that totally embodies American roots rock. Folk, blues, country, and sheer rock n’ roll.
His brother, Chris Robinson has born all the fame for the frontman tricks when The Black Crowes were out there (not to mention that he’s married to Kate Hudson), but in brother Rich is the songwriting that made that band the musical genius it was.
There were problems with Rich’s show, but it was all in the venue and sound. The man is no doubt a genius songwriter that will probably be an “unsung” American hero, no matter what his brother has done.
He plays slide guitar like no one I know. I am glad I saw.
Good things come in threes, so they say . . .

If you liked Shaun of the Dead, you should check out the only zombie movie I’ve seen that’s better - Return of the Living Dead.
I loved the part in Shaun where they’re going through which records to throw at the zombies. Hilarious.

I was lucky enough to see Shaun of the Dead back in April at an advance screening. Bought it on DVD the moment it came out! If you liked Shaun check out the TV series ‘Spaced’.

I haven’t seen Shaun yet, but the radio spots they were running for it cracked me up. They went from an announcer saying something to the effect of, “Shaun of the Dead has opened up an entirely new ‘comedy/horror’ genre,” to a quote from the director of Army of Darkness. Perhaps the commercial’s editor was being ironic with the copy passed down from the marketing drones?
BTW, because it’s already been in release elsewhere you can buy the DVD of Shaun from overseas now if you’ve got a player that’ll play the proper region or ignore the region encoding — not that I would know anything about that sort of thing.

Hmmm Shaun, Simon Pegg is god. I recently got the DVD (I’m in the Uk) signed by him, Nick Frost (Ed), Lucy Davis (his crazy friend, and co-star from the series Spaced), and director Edgar Wright.
Limited edition sleeve too.. yay me
I love the RomZomCom idea - a romantic comedy, that happens to feature the Zombie Apocalyse.

new genre? hummmm. don’t think so. anyway. i am still pondering your blog ad for love after 50. Talk about raising things from the dead if ya got neurological problems. but then i guess looking for love single handedly without viagara means you may be in love with yourself.
