blogging dreams
I DREAMED ABOUT blogging last night. Thought I’d written something completely inappropriate, woke up with my heart pounding. Ran upstairs to the office – what have I done?
I dream in code, sometimes, too. Nothing like solving markup or CSS conundrums in your sleep, only to wake and have no idea what it was you solved. Another thing is composing music – although since I hardly play anymore that rarely happens, but sometimes it still does.
What’s in your dreams lately? I wonder if this is the inappropriate post I’m actually dreaming about . . .

For some reason last night I dreamed I had a pet hedgehog.
And that’s the most lucid bit of a really bizarre dream.
I do have a tendency to dream about code problems and wake up with a nice new idea for fixing them.
Lately, I can’t say I dream of much, because my rhythms are whack.
When I do, it’s always negotiation, never code or markup.
Jobhunting is… quite an experience.
I dream about whatever input has filled my day, albeit with a decidedly bizarre twist on it all… PHP/CSS code, family escapades, television, etc.
I often dream in code. I wake up at 2:00 in the morning, go to my office and work for 4 hours on whatever code I dreamed up. Usually works pretty good. But I have to get it into the realm of the real rather quickly, or I will definitely forget it.
When I dream graphics, though, I get rather bizarre. I begin work early in the morning as previously mentioned, but frequently roundfile part or all of a graphics project a couple of days later. (I never immediately throw something away. It’s common for me to be critical of my work having just created it, only to find that I like parts of it or most of it later.)
Again, the graphics stuff is pretty bizarre at that time of the morning. I rarely share it – the majority of it is not commercial in nature and would not lend itself to a customer’s site.
Last night I turned into a frog after a terrible lab experiment. I hopped around for a while, escaped an invasion, then went home. All my friends and family were there (for some reason I was now human at this point), and there was a river just a few meters away from my house. A really old metal narrowboat had just sailed and docked next to our house. I warned everybody not to go and inspect because I remembered that there were Nazis inside with some big mother of all machine gun ready to slaughter anyone who came near – it was a trap, I think. Oh, there were some trees between my house and the river. Some people went anyway, I heard gunfire, then me, my sister and my sister’s friend fled down our drive and across the road, narrowly missing a really big truck in the shape of a car a little like this one, but it was huge and cream coloured and had it’s lights on really bright and the driver was honking his horn constantly. I’m pretty sure that was a trap by the Nazis as well, but we escaped
Dreams are fun
I’ve never dreamt about code, but I did have an awfully strange dream the other day… I had this dream that this girl thought that no one would come to her wedding if she married another girl so she strung this guy along until he asked her to marry him, so they sent out invitations and everyone goes to the wedding. Since she’s not really going to marry the guy, she’s going to marry some other girl, they have to detain him for the weekend… one of the girls works in a dentist office so they take him to the dentist office and give him a bunch of laughing gas and lock him on the fifth floor of the dentist offfice. (How? I have no idea… In reality, the affects of laughing gas don’t last as long as it did in my dream). So anyway, everyone gets to the wedding and the bride is like, we have a surprise for all of you! I’m not marrying that guy, I’m marrying Cynthia! And the groom’s family is all upset and somehow I know exactly where the groom was locked up and we go and save him.
“What’s in your dreams lately?”
Why, you, Molly, of course
If I were to tell what I dream about, I’d have to take *another* cold shower. :O
I finally “got” object-oriented programming in a dream once. I struggled with it for a while (in real life), then dreamed about it one night and figured it out in my dream. When I woke up the next day, it all made sense. That was weird.
I have the craziest dreams almost every night…and they’re all over the map. My favorite are dreams about flying, I have those quite a bit. Wonder what they mean.
I’ve also dreamed about problems only to wake up with a solution. Those dreams always get me to thinking what goes on in my head when I sleep.
I’ve been dreaming loads lately, or I should say I’m remembering my dreams. They are never very strange but I can only remember them for a few moments before they fade. I should start to write them down.
my dreams scare me. I always have the same ones about my partner splitting up with me. scary stuff!
im constantly dreaming bout my 13 year old daughter and i flying>>>
I had a dream where I was running up into the sky, almost like flying. There where others beside me, behind me and in front of me. All of us where headed in the same direction. I guess the objective was to climb the skies, climb until we got to the very top (Heaven?). It was almost like a race to reach the top. Finally I reach the end of the skies, there is a white wall, I and others touch it and then people begin to free fall back down to earth. I watch others willingly fall, they look happy to do so. I fall with them, it feels like I fall for but a second. I can feel the wind rush past me and I’m aware of the weightlessness of my body as I fall to the ground. Talk about having a weird dream.
