i have a crush on vincent d’onofrio

Someone just emailed me with a “favorite actor” question. I’m a person who doesn’t have too many “favorites” mostly because I crave variety. But I do have to confess a hardcore crush on actor Vincent D’Onofrio.

Okay, so what if the guy is being nominated as a GQ “man of the year”? He’s not your typical GQ kind of guy. He’s been described as “a real character, not an actor pretending to be one.” I have a thing for quirky people and D’Onofrio is definitely quirky, not to mention brilliant and talented and tall and hunky and handsome. Oh, and he’s a Brooklyn boy, to boot.

So there you have it, I’ve confessed my crush. They say confession is good for the soul, so confess your own, c’mon, you want to, you know you do!

What was the present; can you tell us (wink, nudge)? That was really nice of him to do that. If he’s leaving for Berlin, then I say just go for it. Enjoy the time you get to spend with him, no strings, and if he continues to stay in touch or pursue you once he’s gone, then see how it goes. Right now I say have fun! Maybe you’ll “get lucky” ;) . Maybe get a little “somethin’-somethin’” to remember him by. tee hee I’m an old married lady (17 years married this summer) so I’m hungry for the details of young lust and new flings, esp. w/ guys that look like our handsome Vincent! lol

  2. Kissing Vincent says:

Hey, Manicbrit, I’m so pleased for you! (does he have an identical twin that I can share?!) You are so lucky in finding your very own Vicent look – a – like. Hope all continues to go well.

Val – great pictures, both of Vincent and of animals, on your blog! It’s excellent.

So pleased – bid on ebay for “Naked Tango” and won this evening! Can’t wait for it to arrive. I read a comment on another site where a woman said she had to change her underwear a few times whist watching it – now what could she mean???!!! Hope it’s as hot as everyone says.

  3. manicbrit says:

Hey ladies! Thanks so much for all the support re my VDO-alike! The present he gave me was a Zippo to replace the one that I had confiscated when I went to America (it had a Welsh flag on and was very dear to me)- bless him! I was very bored at work tonight and decided to text him (even though I know you’re not supposed to, yada, yada…) and he responded very positively. I.e. when I apologised if I disturbed him, he said ‘any message from you could never be classed as a disturbance’- :D We were talking about my muscles last night and I made some comment about being able to pin a man down- tonight he texted that ‘the ability to pin down a 6ft 4″ man is something wonderful’- :sigh: just have to make sure that I am just having fun and not getting to serious for comfort. If things do go well, I’ll have to sneak a picture of him and secretly post it on my blog so you can see whether or not you agree with me when I say he is a spit of Vincent c.1992!

KV- believe me when I say that Naked Tango is best watched, well, naked, cheaper on the underwear that way…as I think Val said to me before I first watched it, the only thing Vincent takes off during the film is his hat but he is the sexiest man alive. I have no words to beat that description!

  4. JoJo says:

Manic – he sounds awesome! I don’t think you are getting too serious at all; you are just having fun, right? You swore off relationships, right? He’s leaving for Germany, so have fun with it and don’t read too much into anything at this point. When’s he leaving for Berlin? Yes, do try to get a photo of him and post it; all I can picture is Vincent the way he looked in Crooked Hearts.

Val – I went to your blog today; the pics of the cats are adorable, esp. Jaspa hiding her eyes. Pets are so sweet aren’t they? You can have the crappiest day at work and come home to unconditional love from your fur children.

So Naked Tango is really that hot that we’ll blow out our panty shields?? My Goodness! blush blush I was brought up in a very prudish home, sex is ugly and all that, so I still get embarassed by nudity in films. I wish Americans were more open minded like Europeans are!

  5. manicbrit says:

JoJo- he’s more Fires Within (more tan than Crooked Hearts)! You really make me laugh- you know that! I loved ‘panty shields’ and ‘unconditional love from your fur children’. Woke up at 3am (after about an hour’s sleep) with a fit of the nerves and subsequently realised that I have a slight cold coming on- talk about bad timing…I’ve been dosing myself up on Vitamin C and Lemsip all day and, touch wood, it seems to be holding the evil cold germs at bay- with any luck it’ll fight them off completely. Will catch up soon! Must go and be open-minded and European ;)

  6. Val says:

KV, Naked Tango will not disappoint. Vincent as Cholo is HOT.The way he moves is elegant and Latin, he really had the tango in his blood when he made this movie.

JoJo, the movie where he is blind is Good Luck. At the start he is a sighted football player who has female fans flashing naked boobs at him, but he loses his sight in an accident during a game. The main part of the movie is a buddy movie where he and another “gimp” go on a road trip with a mission in mind. It’s funny and sweet and he is edible. The thing you can see him doing with his eyes to seem blind must have been rough on the eye muscles, though a lot of time his eyes are in shade, I suppose to give them a break.

Manic, I cannot believe your luck. You enjoy every moment.

  7. Val says:

Tell me, am I right that Red Sneakers is a VDO movie? What’s it like – worth paying to see on Sky Movies 3 (UK) next Monday at 6.10pm?

  8. JoJo says:

Val – Yes, it’s a Vincent movie; I’ve never seen it but he’s listed 3rd in the imdb credits as playing “Mercado”,here’s a review of the movie from the imdb: “This is the story of a kid named Reggie. He’s good at math but wishes he could play basketball. When he meets a strange junk collector named Zeke, he gets an old pair of sneakers. These sneakers help him to be a good ball player without practicing, but now a shoe company exec is trying to get rid of Reggie’s shoes so people will lose interest. I really thought this was a delightful little film. It was also directed by Gregory Hines, who plays the role of Zeke, and I think he did a fine job at both. This is really aimed at children, but I can enjoy pretty much everything. If you have kids who like basketball than they might want to watch this the next time it comes on TV.”

Anything w/ Vincent is worth checking out. I fast forwarded thru the abysmally boring snoozefest “Chelsea Walls” just to see our fave rave guy. And that other horrid movie w/ Robin Williams, which name escapes me, where Vincent had like 10 minutes on screen as an Irish monk or priest.

  9. Val says:

Never heard of the Robin Williams film. Thanks for the gen on Red Sneakers, though. I might have to find out how to pay-as-you-go it (had cable for years, never done it yet).

  10. Livia says:

There is supposed to be a 12 hour marathon of Goren & Eames on USA channel Sunday. I have to stock up on drool towels for this.

I love this show, but for some reason it just ain’t the same when Logan is on. He’s just too much “Big” for my taste, and there’s no way he can compare to Bobby Goren.

  11. JoJo says:

I hear that, Livia! I don’t think I’ve made it through one Logan episode all season except the one that had Goren/Eames in it too. I really liked him on the old Law & Order and I wish they’d paired him w/ Green instead of whatshisname who took over after Jerry Orbach left/died. I’m bummed that Jamey Sheridan is leaving LOCI.

My Amazon order was scanned into Fife yesterday and is supposed to be out for delivery so I’d better get it today!

I wonder what Vincent’s doing now that the show has wrapped for the year. Maybe taking some much needed time off. He sure doesn’t need to work 24/7 like he used to.

Manic – didn’t you have another date w/ brooding American VDO guy? Do tell!

  12. Val says:

Maybe Vincent’s visiting Leila in London and I’ll bump into him in Lewisham Market? I could even go up to Oxford Street and hope he’s there shopping. Wishful thinking, needles and haystacks.

I WANT NEW LOCI FOR UK NOW!

  13. manicbrit says:

JoJo- here’s hoping today found you a happy Vincent-upped bunny! Hey ladies, sorry I’ve been so crap about writing but I’ve been busy being very European and extraordinarily open-minded over the last few days ;)

He’s so lovely and smells SO good! Anyway, things are actually pretty busy at work tonight (for a fricking change!) so I’d better go and look official (and stop dreaming about the gorgeous half-Irish/half Sri-Lankan, brought up in Britain/America guy- yep it’s all the same brooding guy I went on about. Who knew? He sounds American and just looks Italian really- it’s all good by me- love the complicated history thing!).

  14. JoJo says:

After I posted earlier, my amazon box arrived!! I just finished watching VOG and OMG, could he have been hotter? I didn’t care for the long hair, but he is just so sexy and sensuous, he looked comical dressed up for Halloween, but he does androgynous really well. I thought his boy on boy action was hotter than him w/ Selma. I totally didn’t notice his nephew Hawk or sister Elizabeth. Was she the bag lady that found his dog Rodney at the end? I noticed in the background of the first scene when Val meets Gary, a movie theatre marquee says “The Whole Wide World”. I did, however, find myself weeping uncontrollably at the end. I’ve lost so many friends to AIDS. Then I realized that 10 years ago this month, one of my best friends died of AIDS, leaving behind his beloved dog Happy. So that scene at the end when Gary & Mary Carmen are outside the hospital and they see Rodney, I just lost it.

It’s hard to believe that this is the same man who is Bobby Goren, Guy, Sam Deed and the other characters he morphs himself into. What an amazing actor.

I can’t help but draw some comparisons to “Midnight Cowboy”; misfits in NY trying to find love and survive on the fringes of society.

On another note, I had to go to the local police station to file a police report about that mentally ill psycho cousin who has been making more harassing calls to me. As I waited for an officer to take my statement, I got deep into a fantasy about the detective who will investigate my complaint…..Detective Goren shows up at my door to obtain additional info and listen to the saved voice mails, I offer him something to drink, we lock eyes, then passion overcomes us and we being making out, he sweeps everything off the kitchen table and……And that’s when the officer came out to talk to me. lol

Well Manic, if you’ve gotten close enough to brooding guy to know that he smells so good, then things must be going well! :)

  15. Val says:

Oh JoJo I felt sad reading your post, both for the losses you’ve suffered, and for the problems you’re having with your cousin.

Manic, we’re still waiting for you to tell us you’ve posted a picture of Mr Lovely on your blog.

The only thing keeping me going between LOCI episodes is that finally we are getting NYPD Blue back after several years’ absence. We’re getting three seasons in quick succession, four nights a week. I always thought it was a good enough show to get me watching despite Caruso and Smits, and when they were no longer in it, it just took off for me. Then we stopped getting it. I just hope LOCI doesn’t get the same treatment.

  16. JoJo says:

Val – thanks, that was sweet of you to say. But my cousin brought everything on himself. I believe his mental illness is in no small part due to his heavy duty drug & alcohol use over the years. He’s always been greedy and self centered and he just can’t get over the fact that his father cut him out of the will. The harassment has been going on for over 3 years now, since his father died, and I’ve had enough; hence the police report. It’s actually getting rather comical and all we can do is laugh.

Still, Vincent keeps me going! hahaha That tongue of his should be insured with Lloyds of London.

Looking forward to the LOCI marathon on Sunday. Last night, one of the LOCI epi’s was the one w/ Nelda, who gets all sweet on Bobby. I love the “academy photo” she gives him. And that closeup of him at the end, mmmmmmm. Delish. Mighty fine.

  17. Kissing Vincent says:

What’s the latest with your Vince lookalike hottie, Manicbrit?! Do tell!

Val – your blog gets better and better. Thanks for the gorgeous pics of our Vincent and his kissing technique – I was reading an interview where he was talking about the kiss in TWWW (one I’ve yet to see) and he was saying he’s a great kisser…I don’t doubt it for a moment. He certainly is in my thoughts…Jojo is right, that tongue should be insured, and I’d like to be the insurance assessor who puts a value on it – would need thorough testing first…

Naked Tango arrived yesterday and I’ve now watched it…phew…sexy or what…gasp.

  18. Val says:

Welcome to the Cholo fan club, KV. And thanks for the comments on the blog. My Vincent pictures are pretty well all borrowed from DNY and Eliza, but I try to put them to new use. I just posted a message with a twist, inspiration Wendy Wootton/Portia da Costa who wrote that sexy book based on the Goren character, Entertaining Mr Stone, which I bought on Amazon.

I don’t think one person could fairly assess that tongue, and a team would have to compare notes.

JoJo, with reference to the blog, I couldn’t agree more about how nits should be treated, but Political Correctness has gone completely mad – therefore so have head lice. The girl is actually 15, so should be able to look after herself, but she is Special Needs, and with no family culture of care how could she learn? We used to have nit nurses (“nitty Nora”) but they are now deemed an assault, and children cannot be singled out. All parents have to receive a letter. All that said, the conversation in the staff room was hilarious. They’re a great bunch of people and I will miss them if I have to leave – I’m only temporary staff.

LOCI here tonight – The Saint, about the woman who supports the canonization of Brother Jerome.

  19. JoJo says:

I’m proud to say that I’ll be joining the Cholo fan club, as I miraculously won a VHS of it off ebay. I’ll finally get to see what you girls have been raving about (and panting about)!! Best watched w/o underwear eh? I’ll keep that in mind!! ;)

Val – it’s too bad that poor girl has no support in her life to help her w/ personal hygeine. I agree about Political Correctness (what an oxymoron) going too far now. Something tells me a show like “All in the Fammily” would never go over well, these days. The really sad thing is, all the people who are constantly complaining are our generation – people born in the 50’s and 60’s, who grew up in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and had a good time. Now they’ve gotten so blasted conservative. And think they have this entitlement. Ah but I digress.

Manic- how can you make us all beg for details of your VDO lookalike dates?!?!?! Please let us all live vicariously through you! :)

  20. Hara says:

I’ve been reading some of the posts and I think I would like to join the “I Love Vincent” forum here. I just watched Claire Dolan and have watched Vincent in one scene french-kissing and making love to the main character, played by the late “Katrin Cartlidge” about 5 times and don’t know what to do about my raging hormones. My boyfriend is not here and won’t be coming over until Monday. Any advice?

Also what is Cholo? I the new idiot on the site.

I now have “Guy” on DVD. I had to stay up ’til 3:45 am to get it, but it is worth the wait any time. There is a great sex scene where everything he has is shown except for… what we all want to see. Shucks! He has a gorgeous body and his arms are to die for. The film is very well done and Vincent co-produced it.

DVD’s are great! You can get to the scene that you want to and then watch them over and over. Only problem is it does become a sort of self-torture.

    I’m nuts over Vincent!

I can’t wait for Vincent to do more of these type of films. I think he’s getting tired of his Robert Goren character based on the final episode which did nothing for me. What do you all think? I have the 1st season boxed set and his passion for the character was beautiful then.

  21. Val says:

Hello, Hara. Sounds like you are in the right place.

Cholo is a character played by Vincent in the film Naked Tango (very difficult to get and very expensive, but very sexy, though he remains clothed throughout).

There is a bit of Guy where that part we all wonder about flashes on the screen, and someone has managed to freeze-frame it. Just a little tantalising glimpse. If you go on one of the blogs written by Vincent Fans, dnyer.blogspot.com or elizasplace.blogspot.com you can see it archived. I will also put it on my blog today (life-and-vincent.blogspot.com) in case you can’t wait to wade through the (huge) Vincent archives on both sites.

You are right about the paler performances even by Season 3 (we haven’t seen 4 or 5 in the UK yet). He’s still better to watch than anyone else, though, and you’ve made a good start with the films you’ve watched. There are dozens more to entrap you, as you will see if you look back on this forum. If you want people to suggest what to watch we can none of us wait to put in our suggestions!

Congratulations JoJo, and keep the tissues handy – for both ends…

  22. Diane says:

Hi ladies and welcome newbies! Sorry, I’ve been too busy to post here for a while. Mr D’Onofrio’s tongue should have a special oscar for it’s sevrices to woman-kind – and I’m the kind of woman who would like to sample it’s many uses and techniques please :-) Vincent also said he was too embarrassed to watch the kiss in WWW. Ah, bless!

I love C.I., I always will, but I think Vincent is probably ready to move on. However, having said that, there’s no way he’d play Bobby the same way for 5 years. You can see the subtle changes he made to the character, even from season 1 to season 2. Some of the problems with season 5 may have been because I don’t think Rene Balcer is still writing the stories. Vincent can only work with the script he has, the same as the other cats members. Let’s hope he enjoys his break in Australia – tho’ it sounds as if he’ll be working while he’s there (maybe the TV thing he was supposed to be doing for channel 10?)- and come back refreshed for when C.I. starts again. OH! and of course he has the western he’s been writing to do too. Just don’t disappear for 6 months honey, we like to know you’re well, happy and enjoying yourself ;-)

  23. Diane says:

C.I. doesn’t have ‘cats’ of course, I meant ‘cast’! DOH!!!

  24. Kissing Vincent says:

Welcome, Hara! This is a friendly place for VDO fans.

Val – is that book really based on the Bobby Goren character? Read your blog entry, but had not heard of this book. Is it any good? I love reading so if you say it’s good then Amazon here I come.

Val and Diane – with a name like Kissing Vincent, I claim sole perogative of assessing Vincent’s tongue technique – sorry ladies, he’s all mine for a snogfest!

Jojo – let us know what you think of Naked Tango. I read somewhere that VDO even makes taking his hat off sexy – and he does. Wonder if I should take some tango lessons?!

  25. Diane says:

We’ll just have to fight over Vincent’s tongue ;-)

Did anyone see this ‘Jane’s New York’ (?) thing last week? The one where they were supposed to go behind the scenes on the ‘Law and Order’ shows, including C.I? I understand it was only being shown on a channel in New York (thanks a bunch NBC!)I just wondered if Vincent had appeared, although the fact that nothing has been posted at thereel about it makes me think he probably didn’t….

  26. JoJo says:

Hara – welcome! Glad to see another VDO lover has found us.

Did we all watch the LOCI marathon yesterday on USA? I was hoping for all of the Nicole epis but alas, none by the time I went to bed at 9.

Val – you had me in stitches with your keept tissues handy for both ends remark. I believe I blushed as well! :) I can’t wait to get my video; it’s coming from Vermont but he wants a check or money order instead of paypal, so it’s going to take twice as long.

Diane – where in the world have you been? And Manic too – we need details of her dates! Or maybe she hasn’t been on lately BECAUSE of her dates!

  27. Hara says:

Val, thank you so much for the clip. Great shot. Actually, I thought there might be a glipse in the shower scene, and why couldn’t we watch from a realistice perspective, Hope Davis taping him peeing for real,, not just his face!

Thank you everyone for welcoming me! Glad to be here. I really love this man and wish I knew why he is divorced twice (although knowing he’s a bachelor makes the sex scenes even better). I guess they left him due to his busy schedule or they were just plain cookoo! Hey, even if he slapped me around (I don’t think he’s like that), I’d enjoy the red hand marks as long as they appeared! He is shy, seems incredibly romantic(at least in the roles), handsome, talented, just all around beautiful. I watched “Happy Accidents” this morning to drive myself nuts again. He certainly is romantic in that film.

I’m a guitarist/singer/songwriter and plan to send him a song I wrote for him within the next two weeks. I’ve got to get it recorded. I know he has many fans, but I talked to someone who said they’d pass it along to his assistant, who would then pass it on to Vincent. I pray that he listens to it. It is not a love song, but an admiration song and just to know he got the slightest smile out of it would melt me.

    Wish me luck!

  28. Val says:

Good luck, Hara, with the song. Let us know how you get on. I swear, if you get a note of thanks we will all die of jealousy.

I do wonder about VIncent being embarrassed at the kiss in TWWW, given how much and how often he has bared for our delectation.

JoJo, how frustrating for you that you have to go through the money order process – I had a similar problem over one of my DVDs – The Winner, I think – and for a while I thought I might have been stung, but it worked out OK.

KV, the book really was written with Bobby Goren in mind, and it shows. The author, who is a Brit who writes as Portia Da Costa, is called Wendy Wootton, and she has a blog, wendywootton.blogspot.com. She is very good about replying to emails, and takes part in chats and blogs and stuff, so contact her when you’ve read the book (and obviously you have to go to Amazon and buy it first. You won’t regret it. It is SEXY.

I’d go to Manic’s blog to see what she’s up to, but I can barely read a word, it’s so small on my screen. I hope it’s because she’s having a good time.

  29. manicbrit says:

Hey Val- didn’t realise there were any problems with the blog- I’ll pop over there anc try and fiddle around with the settings over the next couple of days. I’m sorry I’ve been so absent ladies- I have been well and truly loved-up. Reason for us spending so much time together is that he’s moving to Berlin in two weeks (as some of you know I think) and, well, wouldn’t you want to spend as much time with a young VDO-alike as you could…especially one who’s so sweet. Oh dear- I’m going to have to keep those feelings in check now- don’t want any broken hearts in Oxford this summer. Anyway, as a consequence my VDO-watching has been very poor- although I’ve still taken the time to watch a bit of Hotel Paradise and TToP123 every now and again. Oh- and the man knew who Vincent was and could even name more than one of his movies without prompting- either I’ve been talking in my sleep or this one’s a keeper!!! Hope you all have good days ladies- it’s finally stopped raining in Oxford, although I don’t really believe it (as they’ve been saying on the satirical programmes- it’s the wettest drought in history), so I’m going to try and have some fun in town on my day off.

    V-love to you all!

  30. JoJo says:

Manic – good for you for having a brief, but sweet, love affair w/ the VDO look alike. If he can hear you talking in your sleep, then that only leads us all to one conclusion! tee hee hee ;) Good for you! I’m so glad that you decided to take a chance. At least you can never say “I wish I’d asked him out and now he’s gone to Berlin”. Now, if you can just sneak us pic of him, that’d be great!

My money order for Naked Tango goes out today and the seller said he’ll email me when it arrives.

Hara – good luck w/ your song. What instrument do you play? who knows why Vincent has gotten divorced….as we’ve all said before, he’s human and acting is just his job, so women can make up fantasies of what he must be like, based upon interviews and/or roles. I’m sure his hectic schedule contributed to his divorce from Carin. He does so much research to immerse himself in his characters that it sometimes must be hard for him to know where Vincent ends and the character begins. Can you imagine him bringing home Carl Stargher? That would not be fun. And the love scenes, if I were his wife, it’d be really hard for me to see him doing that stuff w/ other women, esp. knowing that tons of drop dead gorgeous models and actresses would like to get their hands on him as well.

  31. Val says:

The Subway has arrived, folks, and now I find myself unable to watch it, knowing how much it upset me before I even knew who VDO was. It’s the only episode of H-LOTS I can clearly remember, even more than the ones where the cops got shot.

I usually manage to log on at school Tues-Thurs but they just replaced the server, and now it’s almost impossible to get on the internet till they sort it out. Makes life a bit difficult when you’re hoping to download worksheets from share-sites.

Just downloaded some more pictures of Himself and ‘m going to gloat over them now.

  32. Diane says:

Good luck with the song – can you post the words so that we can enjoy along with Vincent? I love words – andthere are soooo many songs that always make me think of him (sigh)

Sorry Jo-Jo, been a bit busy recently and just didn’t get time to visit here.

I think it must have been very difficult for Carin & Vincent when he first started working on C.I. Elias was just a baby & Vincent was putting in 18 hour days on C.I. AND filming when time permitted. He said he’d taken the TV gig to be near his family and in the end, it seems to have cost him his marriage. So sad, but at least they seem to still be friends.
And now he’s just waiting to meet me of course ;-)

Hope everyone has dribbled over the new pix of Vincent in LA yesterday. He looks fabulous :-) Love the goatee. If anyone hasn’t seen them, there are some over at thereel and Tess and I have posted a few over on our blog (The Valentine Cat)

Time to go watch Vincent – have a good evening

  33. JoJo says:

Diane – thanks for the heads up on the Vincent in LA piccies on thereel. He is just scrumptious…I could eat him with a spoon. Aw, forget the spoon!! It looks like he’s dropped a bunch of weight again, since the last epi of LOCI, which I’m guessing was shot sometime in late Feb. or March. I do love the goatee look.

What’s your blog address? I googled “The Valentine Cat” but came up with websites that I don’t think are yours.

  34. Hara says:

I’m bummed out. Is Vincent really dating Alyssa Milano? I want my chance darn it! Unfortunely I am not petite and not model material. He loves the tiny beautiful women. He can have anyone he wants to. It would be nice for this to be the reverse. I’d pick him out of a line-up that included Johnny Depp, Viggo Mortensen (a very close second), Colin Farrell, The Rock and Vin Diesel.

Val, thanks for the photos of Vincent kissing. He is soooooo sexy!

I am going to ask all of you to keep these lyrics on this site only. These words are copyrighted and I really don’t want many people to see them. I will post the entire song once I mail it off. Here are a couple verses and the chorus:

VINCENT by Hara Paper copyright 2006

Now that you’re so popular, now that you’re a big star
Turn off that role and show me who you really are
I’d like to know what’s churning in your mind
Stop rehearsing, take a break, forget about those lines

    CHORUS:
    Vincent, wipe your weary eyes
    Vincent, take a little time
    Vincent, now don’t be shy
Talk to me…. be a friend

Yes, I understand that we’ll never reach our goal
Perfection, 100 percent… We strive but it takes a toll
We analyze our lives and do nothing but criticize
But you need to know you’re perfect in my eyes

    CHORUS:
    Vincent, wipe your weary eyes
    Vincent, take a little time
    Vincent, now don’t be shy
Talk to me…. be a friend

There are 2 other verses and a break containing meaningful words. I’ll be more comfortable revealing it all once it’s mailed out. I’m sending him 3 gorgeous professional photos of him to sign for me. I’ll be happy if I only get one back. I really just want him to listen to the song.

I was so inspired by his acting and charm, that I had to write this song. I wrote it also for therapy purposes. When I sing this song, it helps put me back into reality. He is a gorgeous hunk that I’ll never have as mine. Thousands of other woman feel the same way. That makes it easier for me to deal with.

Last time I played in public, a DJ approached me for a sampler CD to perhaps play some of my songs on the local college station. I don’t have Vincent’s song recorded yet, but I will by this weekend.

Thank you…all of you for your support. It really makes me smile!

  35. JoJo says:

Vincent seeing Alyssa Milano? I’ve seen the rumors on thereel but I don’t believe them. My husband and I have decided that if it’s true, he and I will do our best to break them up, since Alyssa’s on his “list”. lol

  36. Val says:

Er – who’s Alyssa Milano? I’m so hopelessly out of touch with the movie world except for Vincent that I don’t have a clue. Of course she’s not worthy of him but will she do?

JoJo, the episode of Homicide – LOTS is heartbreaking. I’ve still not watched it on the new DVD, but from when I saw it before years ago I can tell you that he gets pushed under a subway train by a nutter who hangs around to pretend to help the police. Vincent is trapped between the platform and the train, which has twisted his lower body, so that when the train is moved he will lose blood pressure and die. Pembleton stays with him the whole time. The train operator wants the train moved so the line can operate again, so is in effect asking for Vincent to die, but Pembleton wants the wife to be brought along first. It’s really tragic and I may not have the strength, but I had to have it.

Good luck with the song, Hara. It’s great you can express yourself like that and if he can just get to hear your song I’m sure Vincent will be touched. Sadly not touched physically which would be great…

My poor pussy cat Dandy has just got back from the vet’s, having had a lump removed from his neck. The vet thought it was going to be a salivary glad, but it was behind the gland and is actually a tumour. It’s gone off for analysis, and we’re all hoping for the best. I cooked some fish specially for him to compensate him for the hours without food and the trauma, and he had no trouble wolfing it down.

  37. JoJo says:

Val – Poor Dandy!! I hope all goes well for him. That he wolfed down food is a very good sign. Alyssa Milano is a young actress, early to mid 30’s I believe; she was in “Who’s the Boss” in the 80’s, as Tony Danza’s daughter, and now she’s on “Charmed”. I think she’s kind of slutty and my husband thinks she’s hot stuff; I have to admit, she is pretty and she is hot, in a trashy, bad girl kind of way. I don’t think she’s worthy of him at all; too much tabloid fodder she is. But I can understand why a middle aged man, esp. one as gorgeous as Vincent, would want to hook up with her. She’s pretty easy and she’s hot. Google her name and click on “images”.

That H-LOTS epi sounds very sad. The pictures I’ve seen are disturbing of him trapped b/t the train and the platform. Our poor Vincent!! I wonder how it ends though, does he live or do they move the train?

Hara- good luck w/ the song. It amazes me that people can write music and new songs, and rhyme words or even create beautiful prose. I couldn’t do it if I tried!! I hope he’d have the decency to give it a listen.

  38. Hara says:

    JoJo,

    Thanks for the kind words.

Why wouldn’t Vincent want a young hot babe? He knows he has the upper hand in choices. He may be having a mid-life crisis, like me and lust for something fresh! Actually, I am in a pickle. The DJ that likes my songs also likes me and I can tell he’s going to make a move on me soon. I’m dating someone else and he’s married. What do I do?!? I’m in a bad place until he plays my CD on the radio.

    Any advice?

  39. JoJo says:

Well, just tell him the truth if he asks, say that you are flattered but are in a committed relationship. Depending on how close you are to him in a friend-way, or how well you know him, you could mention that you couldn’t morally or ethically date a married man. If he’s the kind of guy who expects “favors” for playing someone’s music on the radio, that is illegal. It’s a form of payola. Would you really want your CD played under those circumstances?

  40. Val says:

JoJo, tragically, Vincent’s character in H-LOTS cannot survive the moving of the train as he is too twisted up. He just dies too often in this stuff.

Dandy is doing well, but I won’t be happy till I have the result of the analysis of his tumour. My credit card is groaning from the weight of the bills so far – about £450 ($700?). I have a fund for vet bills which I can dip into, but there wasn’t time to go get some cash. Sadly, with so many animals, it’s too expensive to insure then, so I put some money away for them each month.

Watch that DJ, Hara. I hope he’s on the level, but be vigilant.

I’ll do the google thing and look at this hussy who thinks she deserves our Vincent. Then I’ll fashion a doll and stick pins in it.

  41. Kissing Vincent says:

Evening ladies! Just seen a piccy of this Alyssa, and Vincent deserves better…me! As Hara says, what a bummer that this gorgeous hunk can never be more than a fantasy to us. Sigh…unless you’re Manicbrit, who’s all loved up with a Vincent lookalike! What, jealous, me?!

Val – sorry to hear about Dandy; please give him a huge kiss and cuddle from me. More great pics on your blog, by the way.

The 1st series of LOCI has now arrived from Amazon, along with Steal This Movie. Am not wild about the pix I’ve seen of Abbie’s hair, so will have to concentrate on those gorgeous eyes and that sensual mouth instead! The weather is pretty unpredicatble here in Bristol, as I think it is over the whole UK, so if we get a wet Bank Holiday Monday, I can have a Vincent – fest with LOCI and STM! Yum…

Have applied to join the Yahoo group we’ve mentioned before, but not heard anything yet.

    Happy VDO watching, everyone!

  42. Mrs.RobertOGoren says:

Was anybody else shocked about Deakins leaving? I had heard nothing about that. I suspect the show will soon begin “jumping the shark” – if one main character is going, more are soon to follow and we know VDOs contract is only for another year or two. sigh. When is season 2 out??? I have 1 and 3 and thought 4 was just about the best.
I’ve been extremely busy of late and have had no time for excessive VDO watching. But now a long weekend awaits and my dearest oldest bestest friend who was supposed to come for a visit has bailed, again – she has a nasty habit of cancelling visits the day before she’s due to arrive. I actually lost $5 to my hubby who said weeks ago she would not be here. She is one of my oldest and dearet – met her on line the first day of college eons ago, but we were truly shocked when she didn’t bail on our wedding and we suppose that was only becasue she had bought the dress and it would have been way too noticeable if my maid of honor stood us up. Seriously, what is up with that? She makes commitments to others after making commitments to me? oh, boo hoo me – I will make it a good weekend anyway and make the special recipes for me and hubby and hit the big sale at the mall alone with time to really spend shopping for ME. And I’ll have tme to re-view Clair, Guy, etc.
Anybody else anxiously awaiting the opening of The Break Up for a glimpse of VDO in his bit part? I am :)

  43. Val says:

COuld be a while before we get The Break Up but I want to see it – it will be the first time I’ve ever seen him on the big screen.

I forced myself to watch The Subway last night and it made me so sad. Seeing the shot under the train with (supposedly) his legs all twisted up (“like a rubber band”) was really heartbreaking.

KV, I’ve seen pictures of Alyssa on the internet now too, and I agree wh’e not good enough. She is a bit of a chameleon too, though, so maybe that’s the attraction.

    Who am I kidding?

  44. JoJo says:

Yes, I was surprised that Deakins left. I had the same feeling as I did when I read that Snape killed Dumbledore. I was like, “seriously?” Agree about it being close to jumping the shark. I haven’t watched a Logan/Barak all the way thru since the beginning of the season. I guess it’s being moved to Fridays at 10 next year.

I’m pretty disappointed that VDO only has a small part in the new movie. I’ll get it when it’s on On Demand, but I doubt I’ll spend the $$ to go to the movies.

Mrs ROG: I’m sorry that your friend bailed on you again, but at least you can enjoy a nice long weekend AND the LOCI marathon on Monday, which I believe starts at 6 or 7 am, at least out here it starts that early!

Have a great and relaxing long weekend everyone!

  45. Mrs.RobertOGoren says:

I had read it was being moved to Friday at 10, then read Tuesdays at 9 before L&O:SUV. Guess we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled as the season start draws near.
Thanks for the heads up on the marathon – with Tivo, we never watch commercials, so I had no idea!
I decided last night I am going to re-do our kitchen floor. I’ve been wanting to for quite a while but somehow it never gets done. My husband is one of these – “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” kind of guys. Buying a 100 year old fixer upper has been awesome except that changing something like a floor I want to change for cosmetic reasons seems to be his last priority. I keep telling him – changing the floor will delay having to re-do the entire kitchen :) I’ve never done ceramic tile before but went to Lowe’s and a guy there convinced me I can do it, so I’m going to try (since I also don’t have to do a new subfloor – that woud have been a deal breaker). I got everything I need and am going to start deconstructing the kitchen soon. I figurd I have 3 days to do it and screw feeling sorry for myself because my friend sucks. Plus hubby got to rent a tile cutter which is just a new toy for him to play with this weekend :)
    Happy weekend everyone!

  46. Val says:

I’m so sick with jealousy that you have all seen so many more episodes than me! We just get one episode of Season 3 per week. OK, so I’ve got all of the first three seasons on tape repeatedly (about 3 times each) and 1&3 on DVD, 2 on order) but it just isn’t the same somehow. You have to justify watching it when it isn’t on live.

JoJo, re. your reference to Rennes-Le-Chateau on my blog, yes, that’s the area where we were. For the full story you can look on the April archive at Rat Scabies and the Holy Grail. Also, don’t actually know where James Herriot’s stories are based, so you know more about it than me. (Sadly, not difficult).

  47. Diane says:

Evening Ladies, re; this Alyssa rumour(and that’s ALL it is!) Apparently wherever it came from originally, they couldn’t name their source, she was supposed to be at ‘The Break Up’ Premiere on Monday, but legend has it, Vincent didn’t even speak to her. It appears she has a new boyfriend, who is tall – and someone has put two and two together and made a fraction. If and when pictorial evidence appears, I’ll revise my opinion, but I just can’t see Vincent D’Onofrio dating anyone who loves the tabloid headlines – and my US friends tell me she does.

Happy Vincent-Holiday weekend Viewing everyone :-)

  48. Hara says:

Diane, Thanks for the great news about Vincent still being single. It gives me just the teensiest bit of hope that I could snatch him up. (yeah, right)

JoJo and Val, your advice about the DJ was well taken, but not listened to very well. I pressed him to not play my stuff on the radio if it was only about getting in my pants and he was caught off guard. He said that the flirting was something that he was doing because he liked me so much. He assured me it had nothing to do with whether or not my songs are played on the radio. I think I actually hurt his feelings, which ironically made me feel good. He did not touch me all night until I sat next to him watching a band. He then put his arm around my back and held my hand caressing it softly. As soon as he did that, I knew I was in trouble…

This man has swept me off my feet. I have never felt this way before about anyone. I was naughty last night. We did nothing but kiss and both agreed that we are friends and did not want to hurt each other. He kisses better than Vincent, if you can believe that. It was like a dream. YES, there are still a few kind, romantic, passionate men out there ladies. I hate that he is married, because we just clicked so well.

This forum is like a journal. I feel comfortable sharing myself with you and hope you won’t judge me too harshly. My problem? My boyfriend never kisses me. I don’t love him at all. We are friends with a twist. He never takes me out, but just comes over, eats, watches TV, and you know the rest. It is routine and boring. He is a sweet person, but both of us have agreed that we will never marry. I am still with him because he accepts me for who I am….a nutball.

Now, it’s back to reality and recording Vincent’s song, then mailing it off on Tuesday.

Thanks for letting me vent. Have a wonderful holiday!

  49. Val says:

Been there with the detached boyfriend, Hara, and it got me into all sorts of problems, including not dating at all for a year, then having only relationships with unattainable (mostly because married) men. Net result, I’m 53 and terminally single, can’t even be bothered to want a relationship any more. Maybe that’s why I’m so hooked on the Vincent thing. That and the fact that he’s so gorgeous.

  50. Hara says:

Thanks for the post, Val. It’s always good to hear someone else who’s dealt with the same situation. I know that I am not the only one out there, but for you to be up front about it is greatly appreciated. In a way, I am single. It’s always good to have someone there for you when you need them sexually, but otherwise I have nothing but a friend to talk to. I haven’t ended the relationship out of fear that there is noone out there for me. I’m 43 and Vincent is a dream to hang on to. It does make me crazy at times and my boyfriend is not too happy with it, but too bad. I really like what I think he is.

As far as the DJ goes, what I had Friday night will be a memory to cherish. I want this guy badly, but have to except that he is unavailable. I wanted to call him yesterday, but held off for my own good. I get hooked fast when I really like someone. I know I will get hurt in the end if we continue, but know that if he wanted me again I could not resist. If I can separate him from reality in my mind, it might help, but I don’t think that would happen.

Vincent is the sexiest man alive and I will never stop loving him. He is my pacifier. I understand exactly what you are going through. Lets face it, most men I have dated sucked and it’s been one big disappointment. I hope that you will find the man of your dreams one day. But until then, we have Vincent as our lover.
